Oh, how He loves us.
No restrictions.
Not hindered by our faults.
As a faithful lover who will always take us back.
We see that clearly in the story of the prophet Hosea. God has him marry a prostitute who is continually unfaithful. Each time Hosea takes her back, he is reminded of the Jews tendency to stray to other gods and turn their back on their God who loves them dearly. God is always forgiving and merciful, no matter how many times they stray.
“I will love them freely” he tells Hosea. (Hosea 14:4)
A true love. A love that is undeserved. An agape love.
