Thinking Like Mother Mary

1 John 1:1-4

Today’s Reflection: All during Advent, I reflected in a new way on the woman who allowed herself to become the mother of my savior. How did she feel? What thoughts went through her mind and heart? I gained a new respect for her and as usual, she pointed again and again to her Son. She showed me that all she went through and all she did, was a part of a deeper relationship with God.

Now, as the Christmas season has started (yes, I said started), I continue to see her and Jesus with new eyes. My God, the creator of the universe, was an embryo. Where did he grow? Inside Mary.

He needed to be fed. Who fed him? Mary.

He needed to learn how to pray?!?! Who taught him? Mary.

She brought him into this world and shared him with us. God became man through HER! And because of that, St. John can say, “What we have seen and heard, we proclaim now to you.” The reason that we can share Christ now is because she did so first. And we are called to share.

This Christmas season…it’s still going on. The Wise Men have not found him yet. Can we help others who are still seeking? Don’t shut it down yet. Keep Christmas alive a bit longer.

XOXO,
Barb
